Start of vaccinations against COVID-19 in hospitals

Following the delivery of 4,875 new doses of the BioNTech/Pfizer vaccine on 11 January, the four hospitals CHdN, CHEM, CHL and HRS, as well as the CHNP, began vaccinating health and healthcare professionals, as well as all other categories of professionals and subcontractors, within their structures.

975 doses of the vaccine have been delivered directly to each of the four hospitals and to the CHNP, which have installed the equipment to store the vaccine in the required conditions. The next delivery of 975 doses is scheduled for 18 January. As a result, almost 3,900 employees can receive the first dose of the SARS-CoV-2 vaccine over the next two weeks. The second dose of the vaccine will be given after 3 weeks.

The vaccination of the entire hospital sector, including the secondary sites or even other structures - such as the Centre François Baclesse, the rehabilitation centre of the Château de Colpach, the INCCI, the HIS, Haus Omega and the Rehazenter - will be organised in collaboration with the hospital centres, having set up an autonomous vaccination procedure. Vaccination programmes will be carried out in the same way as in the vaccination centres (recording of data, medical consultation, administration of the vaccine).

It is up to each hospital to define the prioritisation according to the services that are most exposed to coronavirus or considered to be at risk.

It should also be noted that all hospital staff (approximately 12,000 people) will be vaccinated over the next few weeks in the hospitals. The first vaccinations for health professionals were carried out on 28 December in the Hall Victor Hugo vaccination centre.
