Article 6 of the amended Grand-Ducal royal decree of the 9 July 1857 regarding the organisation of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg's Government states: "the Minister of State shall supervise the general course of affairs and shall ensure the uphold of the unity of principles which is to be applied in the various parts of the state ".

Start of vaccinations against COVID-19 in hospitals
Following the delivery of 4,875 new doses of the BioNTech/Pfizer vaccine on 11 January, the four hospitals CHdN, CHEM, CHL and HRS, as well as the CHNP, began vaccinating health and healthcare professionals, as well as all other categories of professionals and subcontractors, within their structures.

Luxembourg: first EU Member State to be supplied with Moderna vaccine
Luxembourg is the first EU Member State to have received the coronavirus vaccine from the American laboratory Moderna. Following the marketing authorisation by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and the approval given by the European Commission on 6 January, 1,200 doses of the Moderna vaccine were delivered to Luxembourg this morning.

Start of vaccinations against COVID-19 for residents in nursing homes
In accordance with Luxembourg's vaccination strategy, the first residents of retirement homes were vaccinated against COVID-19 on 6 January 2021.

On this 18th of December 2020, Prime Minister Xavier Bettel launched the Luxembourg equivalent of the highly acclaimed "Elements of AI” online course for students, civil servants, businesses and the global community, thanks to the Finnish government's leadership in digital skills.
