Launch of the 2nd phase of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign

By the end of the week, invitations will be sent out to those covered by phase 2 of the vaccination campaign.

As already announced, following the decision of the Government Council of 29 January, the people concerned are residents aged 75 and over, starting with the oldest (phase 2a), as well as people who are highly vulnerable due to a pre-existing health condition (phase 2b). The diseases in this context are as follows:

  • Trisomy 21, adults
  • Solid organ transplants, including people on a waiting list
  • Hematopoietic stem cell transplants within the first 6 months or under immunosuppressive treatment
  • Cancer or malignant hemopathy undergoing treatment (chemotherapy, radiotherapy, immunotherapy)
  • Congenital immunodeficiencies

Booking an appointment

The people concerned by phase 2a, i.e. those over 75 years of age, will receive an invitation from the Ministry of Health by post, with detailed instructions on how to make an appointment in the vaccination centre of their choice. Personalised assistance is also offered through a hotline specifically set up for this purpose under the number (+352) 247-65533.

People suffering from a cancerous pathology and regularly followed in one of the country's oncology departments will be invited directly by the hospital in which they are treated to be vaccinated. Other people considered highly vulnerable as defined in phase 2b will be able to be registered for vaccination via their general practitioner or specialist doctor from March 1st and will then receive an invitation by post.

Invitations will be sent out as and when vaccines are delivered.
