Xavier Bettel remains hospitalised following his COVID-19 infection

The Prime Minister, Minister of State, Xavier Bettel, remains under medical observation in hospital following his COVID-19 infection, due to persistent symptoms.

During the weekend, the symptoms did not improve, which led the Prime Minister to be hospitalised as a precaution. At that time, insufficient oxygen saturation was diagnosed and the Prime Minister has been under continuous medical observation since then.

The Prime Minister's current medical condition is considered serious, but stable. Therefore, the medical staff treating the Prime Minister has decided that hospitalisation is still necessary at this time for an estimated period of 2-4 days to continue observation.

In order to guarantee the continuity of current affairs, the Minister of Finance, Pierre Gramegna, has received the delegation of signature. The Prime Minister will continue to coordinate the government's work and will assume his duties from a distance.
