Test of the "LU-Alert" public warning and information system
On Monday, 7 July 2025, the government will continue to implement its strategy for testing the "LU-Alert" public warning and information system by conducting its monthly siren network test.
In addition, the geolocation-based SMS alert channel will be tested at around 11 a.m. in the municipalities of Walferdange, Niederanven, Luxembourg, Sandweiler, Schuttrange and Hesperange. As with previous tests carried out by other public authorities, this time it will be the High Commission for National Protection (HCPN) that will send a test message via geolocated SMS. This test message will be sent simultaneously via the "LU-Alert" mobile app and the website www.lu-alert.lu.
As this is a test alert, the public will not need to take any action or adopt any particular behaviour.
Furthermore, please note that the "LU-Alert" system does not work on a registration basis. This means that all mobile devices connected to a Luxembourg mobile network antenna at the time the geolocated test message is sent will be targeted and will receive it.
Additional information and frequently asked questions are also available on the website www.lu-alert.lu.
