Lettre de condoléances du Premier ministre Jean-Claude Juncker au président américain Barack Obama suite au décès du sénateur Edward Kennedy

Dear Mr. President,

It is with great sadness that I heard about the passing away of Senator Edward Kennedy. With his disappearance the United States of America have not only lost an eminent senator but also a statesman who has always been greatly respected throughout the world.

I have had the honour and the privilege of meeting Senator Kennedy several times, and the interesting and edifying discussions I have had with him have left an indelible mark on my mind. I will always remember him as a man of strong political convictions, values and character whose work over the years has been of inestimable importance for the advancement of social justice and peace both within the United States and throughout the world.

Please receive, on behalf of the Government of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg and in my very personal name, my most heartfelt condolences. I would also like to express my deepest sympathy to the Kennedy family.

Yours very respectfully,

Jean-Claude Juncker
Prime Minister
