Message de félicitations de Jean-Claude Juncker à l'attention de Barack Obama, lauréat du prix Nobel de la paix 2009

Mr. President,

It is with great pleasure that I learnt this morning that you have been awarded the 2009 Nobel Peace Price. In the name of the Luxembourg Government and on my own behalf, please accept by sincerest congratulations.

With this year’s award, the Nobel Committee has rightly recognised your endeavours to promote a freer, more stable and more democratic world. Indeed, since coming into office you have not shied away from taking on some of the most difficult and controversial issues of our times, such as the reconciliation between cultures and civilizations, endeavouring to bring peace and stability to some of the world’s areas worst afflicted by the scourges of conflict and war, reforming the world financial architecture or promoting the fight against climate change. This award is an encouragement for engagement by all those who can contribute to bring about a safer world.

Yours very sincerely,
Jean-Claude Juncker
